Best Laptop Bargains

In the economic crunch, finding an affordable computer Laptop Battery is important. We take you through some of the best bargains in today's laptop computer market.

Laptop Bargains

If you're looking for the best laptop bargains, look no further than the newest rage of so-called "netbooks." These machines are significantly smaller than traditional laptops, cheaper, and as it ends up, more convenient. After all, if you're getting a laptop for convenience when you go to the coffee shop or library, why are you destroying your back lugging around a 7 pound behemoth? Most people don't really Compaq Presario 1700 Battery need a 15" screen for their casual computing needs, so netbooks give you exactly what you need and nothing you don't.

Another feature beyond small size is the use of open source operating systems. If you don't really need Vista or Mac OS X, pick up a netbook with Ubuntu preinstalled and save a bundle.

Dell Inspiron Mini 9

Dell's first entrant in the netbook Compaq Presario 900 Battery class is a lean-featured laptop, with an Intel Atom Processor running at 1.6GHz. It runs on Ubuntu and sports a 1024x600, 8.9 inch LED display. Perhaps its weakest area is the small hard drive, offering only 4GB of storage space, with upgrades to 8GB available. It's important to note that this is a solid-state drive, which offers very fast boot times and much more security for your data. You also won't get a CD or DVD drive, but with the increasing presence of online, streaming media, perhaps this is not such a problem. It also includes an integrated webcam.

However, the upside to all this is the exceptional lightness — only 2.28 pounds, this laptop won't break your back. Also, for the less technically inclined, Windows XP is available for Compaq Presario 700 Battery an extra charge.

Acer Aspire One

Acer's popular Aspire One line offers many more configuration options than Dell's Mini 9 and arguably more bang for your buck. To start with, small solid state drives are offered, but so are larger, traditional hard drives. One version, Acer's AOA150-1049, offers the same processor as the Mini 9 and the same screen size, but a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP for only $50 more. The Aspire One is also slightly lighter than the Mini 9, weighing in at 2.19 pounds.

In terms of features, the Acer Aspire Compaq Presario 1800 Battery One is a better bargain than the Dell Mini 9 line. The Aspire One has more storage space, more memory, and choice of operating systems for roughly the same price. However, if you're a style-conscious consumer, Dell's line offers sleeker lines, a wider range of color choices, and a glossy display. Also, the Mini 9's battery life beats the Aspire One's.

Don't forget to look for bargains in the used or refurbished sections of stores as well. Often you can find computers with no visible defects for sizable discounts over what you Compaq Presario 1200 Battery might pay new.
