Prompt Sony Battery

Recall — Again Some companies just can’t catch a break. The U.S. Laptop Battery Consumer Product Safety

Commission is recalling about 35,000 laptop batteries from Sony, after several reports of fires.

Nineteen consumers have reported the batteries overheating; of that group, 17 reported flames, and two suffered minor burns. The recalled batteries are shipped in some

Hewlett-Packard, Sony laptop battery and Dell notebooks.

The recall should only further damage Sony’s reputation as a reliable battery manufacturer. In 2006 the company recalled 9.6 million laptops after a problem with exploding batteries. Also, just last month, Sony issued a recall for 438,000 Laptop Battery Hp Omnibook XE3 battery worldwide, after 15 reports of overheating and one burn hazard.

Think your battery may be affected? Check the list of models after the jump, and if your notebook is in that list, remove the battery immediately. Then contact the manufacturer of your laptop at the numbers or websites below to find out if you’re eligible for an exchange.

any ? , feel free to ask.

This is about Sony Sony VGP-BPS10 battery. Has nothing to do with the laptop manufacturer, which assembles components from OEMs to make a end-consumer product. All lithium-ion batteries Hp Omnibook XE battery contain their own control circuitry to determine safe operating voltages and charge/discharge rates. Because the problem exists across a variety of brands, this signals a manufacturing defect with the battery itself, not with the laptop that uses it. Put a defective battery in an IBM laptop, and it’ll explode, too. Nice try at trolling, though; you’ve done a fantastic job at highlighting how utterly ignorant and bigoted you are. Congratulations.

t seems like there is a new product recall every few days. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on household items and office products. I now have a personafile that alerts me to office product recalls. I also receive timely notices when one of my household products has Hp F1739A battery recalled. You can receive the recalls and update notices at the product blog page.
